If you see a charge from AirGarage that you don't recognize, or a charge that seems higher than expected, this article covers the most common explanations and what to do next.
First: check your parking history
The fastest way to understand any charge is to review your session history. Visit pay.airgarage.com/rentals, log in with the phone number or email you used to park, and review your previous parking sessions with their start time, end time, location, and amount charged.
Common reasons for an unexpected charge
1. You forgot to end your rental
If you parked and walked away without pressing "End Rental", your session kept running until midnight. The charge reflects the total time between when you started and midnight — not just the time you actually spent parked.
If this happened to you, contact our support team with your license plate, phone number, and your actual departure time. See the article "I forgot to end my parking rental" for more information.
2. Your rental was auto-started
If our enforcement team scanned your license plate while you were in one of our facilities and you did not have an active session, your rental may have been automatically started on your behalf. This charge will appear even if you didn't initiate the rental yourself. AirGarage automatically starts a rental if you forget rather than tow your vehicle.
If you believe this was an error, contact our support team. See the article "Why was my rental auto-started?" for more information.
3. The temporary authorization hold
When you begin the checkout process on AirGarage, your bank may show a temporary authorization hold for the hourly rate. This is not a charge — it is a pre-authorization that confirms your card is valid. This hold will disappear within a few business days and will be replaced by your actual parking charge when your session ends.
4. A second charge from the same day or visit
If you parked, ended your session, then returned to the same lot later the same day and started a new session, you will see two separate charges — one for each session. Check your session history to confirm whether you have two separate rentals.
5. A charge you don't recognize at all
If you see a charge from "AirGarage" but don't believe you have ever parked at one of our locations, there are a few possibilities:
- Someone else used your license plate number (rare but can occur with partial plate match errors)
- A family member or someone with access to your card used AirGarage
- Your plate was scanned by enforcement and auto-started in error
Please contact our support team with your license plate and the date and amount of the charge so we can investigate.
How to contact support

- Your license plate number and state
- The phone number or email used when parking
- The date and amount of the charge in question
- Any screenshots from your bank statement or AirGarage account
